EDWARD P. FISCELLA, SR., age 91 of Upper Darby, PA, Sewell and Gloucester Township NJ passed away on June 2, 2019 following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Ed was the best friend and beloved husband of 70 years to Sarah (nee Salomone). He was the devoted father of Ed Fiscella, Jr, (Nancy) of Sewell, NJ and Renee Fiscella Michels (Keith) of Media, PA. He was the adored grandfather of Aimee, Christina, Gunnar, Kaitlyn and Maria and great grandfather of Dex, Quinn and Luke. Dear brother of Richard of Mexico and the late Vincent. He also survived by many nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
Ed attended John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA. He was employed as a Catering Executive at many of the fine hotels in the Philadelphia area. Ed was most proud of his work with the Philadelphia Banquet Managers Guild where he led its transition from a local chapter to The National Association of catering Executives (NACE) where he served two years as national president. Ed worked with celebrities, athletes, politicians and people from all walks of life and his job was to help make their dreams come true.
Ed was also proud serving as a Knight of the 3rd Degree with the Knights of Columbus and as an officer in the Laurentians Senior Organization at St. Laurence Church in Upper Darby, PA where he also arranged the many outing and trips for the organization.
Ed proudly served in the Army in World War II. He was sent to Japan for the “Invasion of Japan”, but the war ended while he was in transit and he arrived there for the “Occupation”.
There will be a viewing from 9:15 am to 10:15 am on Wednesday, June 26, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 am at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed’s memory to Mainstage Center for the Arts, 27 S. Black Horse, Pike, Blackwood, NJ 08012 (www.mainstage.org.).
