Martina Ann, “Tina”, age 88, passed away on October 25, 2018 of Berlin, New Jersey and previously of Perth Amboy and Laurel Springs.
Martina is survived by her beloved husband James W. Lilley, Jr. (Tina and Jim were married for 66 years). She was the loving mother of Donald (Noreen) of Bordentown, NJ, James (Barbara) of National Park, NJ, Janice Harrell of Atco, NJ, Jeffrey (Michelle) of Gloucester Twp., NJ, Deborah Borrelli (David) of Medford, NJ and Christopher (Christine) of Newtown, PA. Proud grandmother of 14: Kathryn Cairns, Claudia Lilley, Kenneth Lilley, Michelle Wright, Andrea Bish, Nicole Showers, Jennifer Harrell, Robert Harrell, Jeffrey Lilley, Brynn Clum, Moriah Pew, Emily Castor, Joshua Borrelli, and Nicklaus Lilley. She was great grandmother of 22. Martina was predeceased by parents, Michael Hasson and Ann Hasson (Siecinski).
Martina graduated from Perth Amboy High School, class of 1948 and Glassboro State Teachers’ College (Rowan University), class of 1952. She was the head cheerleader in both high school and college. In addition to raising 6 children Martina taught elementary school for 17 years in Cinnaminson, Cherry Hill, Pennsauken, Clementon and finished her career in Mt. Ephraim. Martina was a Rotary Ann and Paul Harris fellow with the Gloucester Township (Blackwood) Rotary Club. She took part in the many humanitarian projects which benefited the community. Martina enjoyed making crafts and spending time with her family. She loved playing cards, games and bowling with Doris, Marie and other friends from Laurel Springs. During the summers, Martina enjoyed spending time with her family at their lake house in Norway, Maine.
Martina’s family would like to thank Virtua Berlin Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the wonderful care given to her in her final years. Thank you to Maria, Juanita, Elizabeth and Christina for your continued support, and a special thank you to her 2 guardian angels, Tammy and Lizzette! Your love and support meant everything! Relatives and friends are invited to gather from 9:00 to 11:30 am on Saturday, November 3, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 am at THE FUNERAL MANOR, 1585 Hider Lane, Gloucester Township, New Jersey 08021.
